I knew hector since I was about 5 or 6. Mid 80's. He went out with my aunty back then and become one of my old mans best mates. I knew he was a boxer and I loved to box (I tried) he showed me a few things. Remember watching a rocky movie with him one night. He was just laughing but not judging the movie. Not until I got older I realized who he was and how good he was. Would've been about early 2000's he was at a pub in Brisbane. And a few young f#ckwits who found out who he was had an idea to punch him up. They got the better of him but he had a good go. Within a few weeks there was a big fight at the same pub. Hector was there and those same "men" got a fuckin hiding. The old man and a few other blokes sorted it out. If they had've tried that 10 - 20 years earlier, he would've broken bones. One of the nicest blokes I had ever met. And Tony mundine and him were knocking around back in the 80's too. Watching this brought back memories. I think after accidentally killing 2 blokes in the ring it changed him. RIP Hector, good man!!
